TRADE SHOP FACILITY

Johnson, Avedano, Lopez, Rodriguez & Walewski Engineering Group provided Fundamental and Enhanced LEED™ Commissioning Services for this new two-story, 100,000 square foot multipurpose facility that houses base operations for Construction Managers, Carpenters, Refrigeration/AC Mechanics, Painters, Electrical and Plumbing repair staff.  The facility contains 20,000 SF of office space, lunch room; over 8,000 SF of stock room area, training room, record storage and a furniture warehouse facility.  Parking is provided for 112 private and county vehicles, low emitting and fuel efficient vehicles and bicycles on the 5.5 acre property.  

The project achieved LEED™ Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council and is Miami Dade County’s first LEED certified building.  

Our Commissioning Scope of Work includes:

•    Review of Project Owner Requirements and Confirmation of Design Intent
•    Development of a Comprehensive Commissioning Plan
•    Creation of Commissioning Specifications
•    Performing a Commissioning-Focused Design Review at Design Development
•    Performing a Commissioning-Focused Review of Construction Documents
•    Review of Selected Equipment Submittals
•    Auditing of Owner Training
•    Witnessing and Overseeing the Functional Testing
•    Assemble Systems Manuals and System Turnover Packages
•    Development of a Final Commissioning Report
