CONSERVANCY OF SOUTHWEST

Johnson, Avedano, Lopez, Rodriguez & Walewski Engineering Group is currently providing HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Electrical Engineering Services for this campus-wide, multi-building project at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida.
This very exciting project will
implement the latest and most advanced sustainable design technologies
for the Conservancy’s Sustainability Initiative.
Some of these technologies include LED lighting throughout the entire
campus, geothermal air-conditioning, centralized lighting control
system with daylight harvesting, daylight and occupancy sensors, rain
water collection system, CO2 monitoring system, water efficient
plumbing fixtures, photovoltaic energy system, roof-mounted thermal
panels and campus-wide energy management system.
Three new buildings will be constructed on the campus. These
buildings are the Sugden Gomez Environmental Planning Center, von Arx
Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic and the “GreenTeam”
Facilities Building.
In addition, three existing buildings will undergo extensive
renovation. The buildings to be renovated are: Dalton
Discovery Center, Eaton Conservation Hall and Ferguson Interactive
Learning Laboratory.
The project is pursuing various levels of LEED™ Certification
from the U.S. Green Building Council. Each building will be
separately certified by the USGBC.
